P. Inman, Mark Jickling and Chris Mason
@ Ruthless Grip
We hope you can join us on Saturday, January 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Printmakers Gallery (1732 Connecticut Ave., second floor, on Connecticut between R and S, several blocks north of the Dupont Circle Metro station) for the next event in the Ruthless Grip Reading Series, featuring P. INMAN and music by CHRIS MASON and MARK JICKLING.

P. Inman's latest books are: "amounts. to." (Potes & Poets Press) & "at. least." (Kruspkaya). Several of his poems have been used as sound sources by the composer Tom DeLio. Most recently, work from "amounts. to." can be found in various states of electronic, computer & tape dis/modification on the CD "Music/Theater" (Centaur).

Chris Mason is a poet and songwriter who recorded several CD's with the Baltimore-based group The Tinklers and in the 70's was a member of the Folio Books poetry workshop in DC. Mark Jickling is a librarian and musician who recorded several albums as part of Half Japanese. Together Chris and Mark have been working on translating Greek poetry from the 7th to the 3rd centuries BC, including Sappho, Archilochus, Xenophanes, and Hipponax, and putting the poems (which were originally songs) to music. Four CD's of this work have been released by their label, Race of Bees. This project is called "Old Songs."

Ruthless Grip events have a $3 cover which can be waived for anybody who really needs it.

We hope to see you there and for all festivities afterwards!
