We hope you can join us Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. for the next reading in the Ruthless Grip Poetry Series at Washington Printmakers (1732 Connecticut Ave., second floor, on Connecticut between R and S, several blocks north of the Dupont Circle Q Street Metro exit). Our May event features BUCK DOWNS and ROBERTO HARRISON.

Sung around the campfires and recited on the playgrounds, Buck Downs's poems and songs have long been a favorite of America's schoolchildren. Recent projects include Pontiac Fever, Books for Boys & Girls Who Like Bands, and Extratutionalized. He is a founding member of Free Guitar, a rotating musicology ensemble, and of Beanie Babies of the Street, an ephemera collection project. He is the author also of Marijuana Soft Drink (Edge Books).

Roberto Harrison edits Crayon with Andrew Levy and the Bronze Skull chapbook series. Some of his recent work appears in Birddog, Traverse, and Aufgabe. He is the author of numerous chapbooks, including Chorrera, Mola, bus, Mani and others. He lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ruthless Grip readings have a $3 cover which can be waived for anyone who really needs it.
